Job description

Customer Transactions: Process sales transactions by scanning items, totaling purchases, and accepting payment in cash, credit/debit cards, or other forms of payment. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers accurately and promptly. Cash Management: Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct and reconcile any discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of transactions and handle cash with diligence and security. Customer Service: Greet customers entering the establishment and provide assistance or information on products, promotions, or store policies as needed. Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels by scanning products, checking stock availability, and notifying management of low or depleted items. Assist with restocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and maintaining cleanliness in the checkout area. Security and Compliance: Follow security procedures and protocols to prevent theft and ensure the safety of cash, merchandise, and customers. Adhere to company policies, including cash handling procedures, refund policies, and privacy guidelines. Technology Use: Operate electronic cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently to process transactions and generate accurate sales reports. Handle transactions involving coupons, vouchers, or loyalty cards and apply discounts or promotional offers as required. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and maintain a cohesive work environment. Support other areas of the store, such as customer service desks or merchandise stocking, during peak times or as needed. Skills and Qualifications: Numerical Proficiency: Strong math skills to calculate totals, handle cash, and provide accurate change.
