Job description

Customer Service: Providing friendly and efficient customer service is paramount. You greet customers, handle inquiries, and ensure they have a positive experience at the checkout counter. Cash Handling: Responsible for accurately processing cash, credit card, debit card, and other forms of payment from customers. This includes counting cash, providing change, and maintaining the cash register drawer balanced. Processing Transactions: Scanning items, entering prices, and totaling purchases accurately. You may also apply discounts, coupons, or promotions as per store policies. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping your work area clean and organized, including the checkout counter, credit card terminals, and surrounding areas. Inventory Control: Monitoring and reporting low stock items to management, ensuring sufficient supplies such as shopping bags, receipt paper, and currency for the cash drawer. Upselling and Cross-selling: Informing customers about current promotions, special offers, or additional products/services that may complement their purchase. Handling Returns and Exchanges: Processing returns, refunds, and exchanges according to store policies, ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to guidelines. Security and Compliance: Adhering to security procedures regarding cash handling, such as verifying cash amounts, detecting counterfeit currency, and following protocols during opening and closing procedures. Team Collaboration: Working effectively with other team members, including retail associates and supervisors, to ensure efficient store operations and excellent customer service. End-of-Day Reporting: Balancing cash register at the end of the shift, reconciling transactions, and preparing daily sales reports for management.
