Job description

Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, assist them with inquiries, and provide information about products, services, promotions, and store policies. Address customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries professionally and promptly to ensure a positive shopping experience. Point of Sale Transactions: Operate cash registers, POS systems, or electronic payment terminals to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Scan or enter items, calculate totals, apply discounts or coupons, and accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments. Cash Handling: Count and verify cash, coins, and checks received from customers at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensure that cash drawers or tills are balanced and reconciled with transaction records, and report any discrepancies or shortages to management. Payment Processing: Process credit card transactions, authorize payments, and obtain approval for card payments using card terminals or payment processing systems. Handle customer refunds, exchanges, or returns according to store policies and procedures. Cash Management: Maintain proper cash management practices, including safeguarding cash, securing cash drawers, and adhering to cash handling procedures to prevent theft, fraud, or errors. Follow established protocols for cash drops, deposits, and cash register reconciliation. Sales Reporting: Generate daily sales reports, cash register reconciliation reports, and transaction summaries for management review. Provide accurate and timely sales data, transaction logs, and cash handling records to support financial reporting and accounting processes. Product Knowledge: Develop a basic understanding of the products or services offered by the store to assist customers with inquiries and recommend products based on their needs or preferences. Stay informed about product features, pricing, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers. Queue Management: Manage customer queues or lines at the checkout counter, ensuring efficient flow and minimizing wait times during peak hours. Process transactions quickly and accurately to expedite the checkout process and improve customer satisfaction. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, track product availability, and assist in inventory management tasks such as restocking shelves, replenishing merchandise, and performing stock checks as needed. Alert management to low stock levels or inventory discrepancies to ensure product availability for customers. Compliance and Security: Adhere to store policies, procedures, and regulations governing cash handling, payment processing, and customer transactions. Maintain confidentiality of customer information, protect sensitive data, and comply with security protocols to prevent fraud or unauthorized access. Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow cashiers, sales associates, and store staff to ensure smooth operations, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
