Job description

Diagnostic Testing: Performing various diagnostic tests and procedures to assess cardiac function and identify cardiovascular conditions. This may include electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, and cardiac catheterizations. Patient Preparation: Preparing patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the procedure, obtaining consent, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Positioning patients correctly and attaching electrodes or sensors for monitoring during testing. Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Setting up and calibrating medical equipment and instruments used for diagnostic testing. Ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, sanitized, and functioning correctly for accurate test results. Test Administration: Administering diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures. Monitoring patients' vital signs and symptoms during testing, and recognizing and responding to any adverse reactions or complications. Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting and recording data obtained from diagnostic tests, including measurements, waveforms, and images. Analyzing test results and providing preliminary findings to cardiologists and other healthcare providers for interpretation. Quality Control and Assurance: Ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and validity of diagnostic test results through quality control measures. Performing routine equipment checks, calibration procedures, and quality assurance checks to maintain standards of excellence. Patient Education: Providing education and instructions to patients regarding diagnostic procedures, including what to expect, how to prepare, and any post-test care or follow-up instructions. Addressing patients' questions, concerns, and anxieties with empathy and understanding. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient encounters, test results, and observations in medical records or electronic health record (EHR) systems. Generating reports and summaries for review by cardiologists and other healthcare providers. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with cardiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and treatment plans. Communicating effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. Continuing Education: Engaging in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities to enhance knowledge and skills in cardiac technology. Staying updated on advances in cardiovascular diagnostics, equipment, and techniques through conferences, workshops, and seminars. Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patients' needs, preferences, and rights within the healthcare system. Ensuring that patients receive compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care throughout the diagnostic testing process. Emergency Response: Responding calmly and effectively to medical emergencies or adverse events that may occur during diagnostic testing. Following established protocols for emergency procedures, including initiating life-saving interventions and contacting medical personnel as needed.
