Job description

Patient Consultation and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiovascular health, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests. Evaluate symptoms, risk factors, and diagnostic findings to diagnose and stage cardiovascular conditions. Diagnostic Testing and Interpretation: Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies to assess cardiac function, anatomy, and blood flow. Perform and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, and other cardiac diagnostic procedures. Treatment Planning and Management: Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' diagnoses, risk factors, and health goals. Prescribe medications, lifestyle interventions, and cardiac rehabilitation programs to manage cardiovascular conditions and prevent disease progression. Interventional Procedures: Perform interventional procedures and surgeries to treat cardiovascular diseases, such as angioplasty, stent placement, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac ablation. Provide preoperative evaluation, perioperative care, and postoperative follow-up for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. Cardiac Rehabilitation: Refer patients to cardiac rehabilitation programs and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize recovery, improve cardiovascular fitness, and reduce the risk of future cardiac events. Collaborate with rehabilitation specialists, exercise physiologists, and dietitians to support patients' rehabilitation goals. Chronic Disease Management: Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions, such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease, through ongoing monitoring, medication management, and lifestyle counseling. Implement evidence-based guidelines and treatment protocols to optimize patient outcomes. Risk Factor Modification: Assess and address modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and sedentary lifestyle. Provide counseling, education, and support to help patients adopt healthy behaviors and reduce cardiovascular risk. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications. Empower patients to take an active role in managing their cardiovascular health and making informed decisions about their care. Research and Clinical Trials: Participate in cardiovascular research studies, clinical trials, and academic endeavors to advance scientific knowledge, develop innovative treatments, and improve patient outcomes. Contribute to scholarly publications, presentations, and professional conferences in the field of cardiology. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and cardiac surgeons, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Facilitate communication, care coordination, and shared decision-making among team members. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and accreditation activities to enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of cardiovascular care delivery. Implement best practices, clinical guidelines, and performance metrics to monitor and improve clinical outcomes.
