Job description

Cardiovascular Assessment: Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' cardiovascular health, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations. Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, congenital heart defects, and vascular diseases, based on clinical findings and diagnostic test results. Risk Factor Management: Assessing and managing cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and sedentary lifestyle, through lifestyle modifications, pharmacotherapy, and preventive interventions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. Medication Management: Prescribing and managing medications to treat cardiovascular conditions and symptoms, including antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors, diuretics, and lipid-lowering agents, and monitoring medication efficacy and safety. Interventional Procedures: Performing and/or overseeing interventional procedures to treat cardiovascular conditions, such as cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (angioplasty and stenting), pacemaker implantation, cardioversion, and radiofrequency ablation of arrhythmias. Cardiac Rehabilitation: Designing and supervising cardiac rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from heart surgery, myocardial infarction, heart failure, or other cardiovascular events, to promote physical fitness, improve cardiac function, and enhance quality of life. Electrophysiology: Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and conducting electrophysiology studies to evaluate the electrical activity of the heart, identify abnormal rhythms, and perform catheter-based ablation procedures to restore normal rhythm. Imaging Interpretation: Interpreting cardiovascular imaging studies such as echocardiograms, cardiac MRI scans, nuclear stress tests, and CT angiography to assess cardiac structure and function, identify abnormalities, and guide treatment decisions. Cardiovascular Research and Education: Engaging in clinical research, scholarly activities, and continuing medical education to stay abreast of advances in cardiovascular medicine, contribute to scientific knowledge, and improve patient care outcomes. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care, share expertise, and optimize treatment plans. Patient Counseling and Education: Providing patient education and counseling on cardiovascular health, disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, dietary recommendations, and self-management strategies to empower patients to take an active role in their cardiac care. Ethical and Professional Conduct: Adhering to ethical principles, professional standards of practice, and regulatory requirements in the provision of cardiovascular care, maintaining patient confidentiality, respecting patients' autonomy, and advocating for the best interests of patients.
