Diagnostic Testing: They order and interpret diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), echocardiograms (ultrasound imaging of the heart), stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, and other imaging studies to diagnose heart conditions accurately. Diagnosis and Treatment: Cardiologists diagnose and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), congenital heart defects, and valvular heart disease. They develop personalized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and evidence-based guidelines. Medical Procedures: Cardiologists perform invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stenting, and electrophysiology studies to treat and manage cardiovascular conditions.
