Job description

Patient Consultations and Examinations: Conducting thorough medical consultations with patients to assess their cardiac health, medical history, and symptoms. Performing physical examinations, including auscultation of the heart and vascular assessment, to evaluate cardiovascular function. Diagnostic Testing and Interpretation: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures to assess cardiac function and diagnose cardiovascular conditions. This may include electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, and cardiac imaging studies. Treatment Planning and Management: Developing individualized treatment plans based on patients' diagnoses, medical history, and risk factors. Prescribing medications, lifestyle modifications, and therapeutic interventions to manage cardiovascular conditions and prevent complications. Cardiac Procedures and Interventions: Performing interventional procedures and surgeries to treat cardiac conditions, such as angioplasty, stent placement, cardiac catheterization, and pacemaker implantation. Providing pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. Cardiac Rehabilitation: Participating in cardiac rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from heart-related procedures, surgeries, or events. Collaborating with rehabilitation specialists to develop exercise plans, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications for patients. Chronic Disease Management: Managing chronic cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease. Monitoring patients' ongoing health status, adjusting treatment plans, and optimizing disease management. Preventive Cardiology: Promoting preventive measures to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and improve heart health. Providing patient education on risk factor modification, including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and medication adherence. Risk Assessment and Screening: Conducting risk assessments and cardiovascular screenings to identify individuals at high risk for heart disease. Recommending appropriate preventive interventions and follow-up care based on patients' risk profiles. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Collaborating with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care. Participating in multidisciplinary teams to address complex cardiac cases and optimize patient outcomes. Clinical Research and Education: Engaging in clinical research activities to advance knowledge and treatment options in cardiology. Contributing to medical literature through publications, presentations, and participation in scientific conferences. Educating medical students, residents, and fellows on cardiology principles and practice. Patient Counseling and Support: Providing counseling and emotional support to patients and their families regarding their cardiac condition, treatment options, and prognosis. Addressing patients' concerns, fears, and questions with empathy and compassion. Continuing Education and Professional Development: Staying updated on advances in cardiology research, technologies, and treatment modalities through ongoing medical education and professional development activities. Pursuing board certification, continuing medical education (CME), and specialty training to maintain clinical competency and expertise.
