Job description

Patient Consultation and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' cardiac health, identify symptoms, and diagnose cardiovascular conditions. Cardiac Imaging and Testing: Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, and cardiac MRI or CT scans, to assess heart function and structure. Treatment Planning and Management: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and interventional or surgical procedures as appropriate. Chronic Disease Management: Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease through ongoing monitoring, medication adjustments, and patient education. Interventional Procedures: Perform interventional procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions, such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and cardiac ablation for arrhythmias. Surgical Referrals and Coordination: Refer patients to cardiovascular surgeons or other specialists for surgical interventions such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair or replacement, or implantation of pacemakers or defibrillators. Coordinate preoperative and postoperative care as needed. Cardiac Rehabilitation: Recommend and monitor cardiac rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from heart surgery, myocardial infarction (heart attack), or other cardiac events. Provide guidance on exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes to promote cardiac health. Preventive Cardiology: Educate patients about preventive measures to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, including smoking cessation, weight management, exercise, stress reduction, and cholesterol and blood pressure management. Patient Education and Counseling: Provide patients and their families with information, guidance, and support regarding their cardiac condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Address patient concerns and encourage adherence to treatment plans. Research and Clinical Trials: Participate in clinical research studies and trials to advance knowledge and treatment options in the field of cardiology. Stay informed about the latest research findings, guidelines, and innovations in cardiovascular medicine. Continuing Medical Education: Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing medical education (CME) activities, conferences, and workshops to stay current with advances in cardiology practice and technology. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, nurses, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, and radiologists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
