Job description

Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, as well as their dosha constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalances (Vikriti). Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and progress throughout the course of Ayurvedic treatments, therapies, and detoxification procedures (Panchakarma). Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients about Ayurvedic principles, concepts, and therapies, including the importance of maintaining dosha balance, following dietary and lifestyle recommendations, and practicing self-care routines. Provide guidance and support to patients and their families regarding treatment protocols, herbal remedies, dietary modifications, and lifestyle adjustments. Herbal Medicine Administration: Prepare and administer Ayurvedic herbal remedies, formulations, and decoctions as prescribed by Ayurvedic doctors or practitioners. Ensure accurate dosage, proper administration techniques, and monitoring for adverse reactions or side effects. Assistance with Panchakarma Therapies: Assist Ayurvedic therapists and practitioners in administering Panchakarma detoxification therapies, such as Abhyanga (oil massage), Swedana (herbal steam), Basti (medicated enema), and Nasya (nasal administration). Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing detoxification procedures and help them manage any discomfort or reactions that may occur. Nutritional Support and Dietary Management: Collaborate with Ayurvedic dieticians or nutritionists to develop personalized dietary plans and menus based on patients' dosha constitution, digestive capacity (Agni), and health goals. Monitor patients' dietary adherence, provide nutrition education, and offer practical guidance on meal planning, food preparation, and mindful eating practices. Assistance with Lifestyle Modifications: Support patients in implementing lifestyle modifications recommended by Ayurvedic practitioners, such as adopting daily routines (Dinacharya), seasonal regimens (Ritucharya), and stress management techniques (Yoga, Meditation). Facilitate patient engagement in therapeutic activities, relaxation exercises, and self-care practices to enhance overall health and well-being. Holistic Care Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including Ayurvedic doctors, therapists, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to ensure coordinated and integrated care for patients. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address their concerns, answer questions, and provide support throughout the healing process. Health Promotion and Preventive Care: Promote holistic health and wellness through health education, preventive care initiatives, and community outreach programs. Empower patients to take an active role in their health by providing resources, tools, and strategies for maintaining balance, preventing illness, and optimizing vitality. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements. Prepare reports, charts, and documentation for interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and healthcare audits as needed. Professional Development: Stay updated on advances in Ayurvedic nursing, holistic healthcare practices, and evidence-based interventions through continuing education, training, and participation in professional organizations. Adhere to ethical standards, professional guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing nursing practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and cultural sensitivity.
