Job description

Team Supervision: Manage and supervise a team of automotive technicians, mechanics, and service advisors. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and quality of workmanship. Work Allocation: Assign tasks, projects, and service orders to technicians based on their skills, experience, and workload capacity. Prioritize work assignments to meet customer deadlines, service schedules, and department goals. Technical Support: Provide technical support and assistance to technicians in diagnosing complex vehicle issues, troubleshooting mechanical problems, and performing advanced repair procedures. Offer guidance on repair techniques, tool usage, and safety protocols. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and inspections of completed repair work to ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations. Verify the accuracy, completeness, and safety of repairs before releasing vehicles to customers. Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for technicians to enhance their technical skills, knowledge, and proficiency. Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to improve performance and keep staff updated on new technologies and repair techniques. Diagnostic Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and usage of diagnostic equipment, tools, and machinery in the service department. Ensure that diagnostic tools are properly maintained, calibrated, and available for use as needed. Parts and Inventory Management: Collaborate with the parts department to manage spare parts inventory, stock levels, and ordering processes. Coordinate parts procurement, allocation, and usage to support repair operations and minimize downtime. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to discuss vehicle repair needs, explain repair recommendations, and address any concerns or questions. Provide updates on repair progress, estimated completion times, and cost estimates to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for technicians and customers. Monitor compliance with safety protocols, hazardous waste disposal guidelines, and environmental regulations. Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations and assessments of technicians to measure productivity, efficiency, and quality of work. Provide constructive feedback, recognition, and performance improvement plans as needed to maintain high standards of performance. Workflow Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow optimization, and efficiency gains in repair operations. Implement changes, enhancements, or best practices to streamline processes, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput. Emergency Response: Manage emergency repair situations, breakdowns, or service disruptions effectively to minimize customer inconvenience and vehicle downtime. Mobilize resources, assign tasks, and coordinate efforts to resolve emergencies promptly and professionally.
