Supervision and Leadership: Leading a team of automotive technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship. Assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and coordinating schedules to maximize productivity and meet service department goals. Technical Oversight: Reviewing and approving repair and service estimates, ensuring accuracy, adherence to manufacturer guidelines, and customer expectations. Conducting quality inspections and audits to verify workmanship, diagnose complex vehicle issues, and provide technical assistance as needed. Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Assisting technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle problems, using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and expertise in automotive systems. Analyzing diagnostic reports and recommending appropriate repair procedures to address mechanical, electrical, or performance issues. Customer Service and Communication: Interfacing with customers to discuss vehicle diagnoses, repair recommendations, and cost estimates. Providing clear explanations of repair options, answering technical inquiries, and addressing customer concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Parts and Inventory Management: Collaborating with the parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts and materials for repairs. Monitoring parts usage, managing inventory levels, and optimizing procurement practices to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Safety and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards in all technical operations. Promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members to maintain a safe working environment. Training and Development: Identifying training needs and opportunities for continuous skill development among technicians. Conducting training sessions, workshops, or mentoring programs to enhance technical proficiency and keep abreast of industry advancements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections, diagnostics, repairs performed, and customer interactions. Generating reports on service department performance, including key metrics such as productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
