Performs supervisory responsibilities by overseeing skilled mechanics and workers maintaining automobile and truck vehicles. Supervises independently and in harmony with the automotive shop foreman and communicates with the superiors and subordinates. Manages staff and operations of a technical area to include scheduling time, managing performance, supply and logistics, identifying training needs, and providing recommendations for personnel actions. Schedules and implements the smooth flow of general shop repairs and preventive maintenance workload for the physical plant and for other university departments. Communicates between customers and mechanics to eliminate inefficiency and comeback repairs.
