Job description

Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels of automobile spare parts to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence. Utilizing inventory management software or systems to track stock levels, reorder points, and replenishment schedules. Procurement and Purchasing: Identifying and sourcing spare parts from suppliers or manufacturers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and reliable supply of parts. Quality Control: Conducting quality inspections of incoming spare parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards. Rejecting or returning defective or substandard parts and working with suppliers to resolve quality issues. Storage and Warehousing: Organizing and optimizing storage space for spare parts within the warehouse or parts department. Implementing proper storage practices to ensure parts are stored safely, securely, and in a manner that facilitates easy retrieval and access. Inventory Reconciliation and Reporting: Conducting regular physical inventory counts and reconciling inventory records with actual stock levels. Generating reports on inventory status, movement, and trends to inform decision-making and planning. Order Processing and Distribution: Processing customer orders for spare parts, picking parts from inventory, and coordinating their timely delivery or collection. Ensuring accurate order fulfillment and addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise during the order processing and distribution process. Customer Service and Support: Providing assistance and support to customers, including identifying the correct spare parts for their vehicles, providing pricing and availability information, and facilitating parts ordering and pickup or delivery. Resolving customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns related to spare parts. Parts Catalog Management: Maintaining an up-to-date parts catalog or database containing information on available spare parts, including part numbers, descriptions, pricing, and compatibility with vehicle models. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of parts information to facilitate efficient parts identification and ordering. Training and Development: Providing training and guidance to parts department staff on inventory management practices, parts identification, customer service skills, and use of inventory management software or systems. Developing the skills and knowledge of team members to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness. Compliance and Safety: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to spare parts management, procurement, and distribution. Maintaining a safe and organized work environment within the parts department, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
