Job description

Inventory Management: Managing the inventory of spare parts and components, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking inventory levels. You ensure that the right parts are available in adequate quantities to meet the demands of the service department and fulfill customer needs promptly. Parts Procurement: Sourcing spare parts and components from suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, or aftermarket vendors. You establish relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure timely delivery of parts to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts. Vendor Management: Building and maintaining relationships with parts suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing. You evaluate supplier performance, monitor product quality, and address any issues or concerns related to parts procurement and delivery. Parts Identification and Cataloging: Identifying, cataloging, and organizing spare parts and components according to manufacturer, part number, compatibility, and application. You maintain accurate records and documentation of parts inventory, pricing, specifications, and availability using inventory management systems or software. Parts Inspection and Quality Control: Inspecting incoming parts shipments for accuracy, completeness, and quality to ensure that parts meet the required standards and specifications. You identify and address any discrepancies, damages, or defects in parts received and take appropriate action to resolve issues with suppliers or vendors. Stock Replenishment and Reordering: Monitoring inventory levels and usage patterns to anticipate demand and initiate stock replenishment or reordering as needed. You establish reorder points, reorder quantities, and lead times for fast-moving parts and critical components to maintain optimal inventory turnover and availability. Parts Pricing and Sales: Establishing pricing policies, markup rates, and sales strategies for spare parts and components. You ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and adhering to pricing guidelines set by management or manufacturer recommendations. Customer Service and Support: Providing assistance and support to customers, service technicians, and mechanics regarding parts availability, pricing, and compatibility. You assist with parts inquiries, identify appropriate parts for specific vehicle models or repair jobs, and process parts orders accurately and efficiently. Parts Returns and Warranty Claims: Handling parts returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in accordance with established policies and procedures. You coordinate with suppliers or manufacturers to return defective or incorrect parts, process warranty claims, and obtain replacements or refunds for customers as needed. Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring key performance metrics, such as inventory turnover, stockout rates, fill rates, and parts sales performance. You analyze data, generate reports, and provide insights and recommendations for optimizing inventory management, improving parts availability, and enhancing overall departmental efficiency and profitability.
