Inventory Management: You oversee the inventory of spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory. Procurement: You are responsible for sourcing and purchasing spare parts from suppliers or vendors. You identify reliable suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, and place orders for spare parts based on inventory requirements and demand forecasts. Supplier Management: You establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of spare parts and resolving any issues or discrepancies with orders. You evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and seek opportunities to optimize procurement processes and costs. Quality Control: You ensure that spare parts meet quality standards and specifications before being accepted into inventory. You inspect incoming shipments, verify part numbers, check for damage or defects, and reject non-conforming parts to maintain quality assurance. Distribution and Logistics: You coordinate the distribution of spare parts to internal departments or external customers as needed. You manage shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities, organize deliveries, and ensure timely fulfillment of orders to meet customer requirements. Stock Replenishment: You monitor stock levels and demand patterns to anticipate replenishment needs and initiate orders for replenishment stock in a timely manner. You use inventory management software or systems to track stock movements, reorder points, and lead times for spare parts. Parts Identification and Cataloging: You maintain a catalog or database of spare parts, including part numbers, descriptions, specifications, and pricing information. Technical Support: You provide technical assistance and support to internal staff or customers regarding spare parts compatibility, installation procedures, and usage instructions. Documentation and Reporting: You maintain records of spare parts transactions, including receipts, invoices, and inventory reports.
