Job description

Inventory Management: Oversee the maintenance and organization of the spare parts inventory, including stock levels, storage, categorization, labeling, and tracking of parts using inventory management software or systems. Procurement: Source and procure spare parts from suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, or dealerships, ensuring timely availability of parts to meet customer demand and service department requirements. Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with spare parts suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and reorder spare parts as needed to prevent stockouts, backorders, or delays in fulfilling customer orders or service department requests. Forecast demand based on historical data, seasonal trends, and sales projections. Quality Control: Inspect incoming spare parts shipments for accuracy, completeness, and quality assurance. Verify part numbers, specifications, and compatibility with vehicle makes and models to avoid discrepancies or errors. Warehouse Operations: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of spare parts. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, storage guidelines, and inventory management procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Distribution: Coordinate the distribution of spare parts to internal departments, service centers, technicians, or external customers according to priority, urgency, and service level agreements. Optimize delivery routes and logistics to minimize transportation costs and lead times. Sales Support: Provide support to sales staff, service advisors, and technicians by identifying, locating, and supplying spare parts for customer orders, vehicle repairs, and maintenance services. Assist customers with parts inquiries, pricing, availability, and order fulfillment. Parts Catalog Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date parts catalogs, databases, and electronic parts catalogs (EPCs) containing detailed information about spare parts, part numbers, descriptions, illustrations, pricing, and interchangeability. Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally, courteously, and responsively to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide assistance with spare parts selection, ordering, returns, and warranties. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and timely resolution of concerns. Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports, analytics, and performance metrics related to spare parts inventory, sales, procurement, and distribution. Analyze data trends, demand patterns, and inventory turnover ratios to optimize inventory management strategies and reduce costs. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements governing the sale, distribution, and handling of automotive spare parts, including product safety standards, labeling requirements, and environmental regulations. Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and support to spare parts staff on inventory management practices, product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational procedures. Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and teamwork within the spare parts department.
