Job description

Diagnosis: Diagnose electrical problems in vehicles by using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical manuals. Identify issues such as faulty wiring, blown fuses, malfunctioning switches, or defective electrical components. Repair and Maintenance: Repair or replace faulty electrical components, including but not limited to: Batteries Starter motors Alternators Ignition systems Lighting systems (headlights, taillights, turn signals) Power windows and door locks Heating and air conditioning systems Audio and entertainment systems Vehicle security systems (alarms, immobilizers) Wiring and Installation: Install electrical components and accessories in vehicles, such as aftermarket audio systems, navigation systems, lighting upgrades, or security systems. Route wiring harnesses, connect electrical components, and ensure proper installation according to manufacturer specifications. Electrical Upgrades: Upgrade vehicle electrical systems to improve performance, functionality, or safety. This may involve installing higher-capacity batteries, upgrading alternators, or adding features such as auxiliary lighting, power outlets, or backup cameras. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex electrical problems using wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical knowledge. Isolate and identify issues with circuits, sensors, relays, or control modules, and implement effective solutions to resolve them. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicle electrical systems to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance. This may include inspecting wiring harnesses, cleaning electrical connections, and testing components for wear or corrosion. Electrical Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with vehicle electrical systems. Use insulated tools, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and follow best practices to prevent electrical shocks, short circuits, or other hazards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance activities. Document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, parts used, and service recommendations for future reference and customer records. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their electrical problems, explain repair options, and provide cost estimates. Communicate effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and address any questions or concerns. Continuing Education: Stay updated on advancements in automotive electrical systems, diagnostic techniques, and repair procedures through training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
