Job description

Electrical System Installation: Install electrical systems and components in vehicles during manufacturing or retrofitting. This includes wiring harnesses, connectors, switches, relays, fuses, and electrical accessories such as lights, radios, navigation systems, and power windows/locks. Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on vehicle electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This involves inspecting wiring, connectors, and electrical components for wear, damage, or corrosion, and replacing or repairing components as needed. Electrical System Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical issues and malfunctions in vehicles. This includes troubleshooting problems such as faulty wiring, blown fuses, malfunctioning switches, short circuits, and electrical component failures. Battery Service and Replacement: Test vehicle batteries for voltage, capacity, and performance using diagnostic equipment. Charge or replace batteries as needed to ensure proper starting and electrical system operation. Charging System Service: Inspect and test the vehicle's charging system components, including the alternator, voltage regulator, and wiring. Repair or replace faulty components to ensure proper battery charging and electrical system operation. Starting System Service: Test and diagnose problems with the vehicle's starting system, including the starter motor, ignition switch, solenoid, and wiring. Repair or replace components as needed to ensure reliable starting performance. Lighting System Service: Inspect, test, and repair vehicle lighting systems, including headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and interior lights. Replace bulbs, fuses, and wiring harnesses as needed to ensure proper illumination and compliance with safety regulations. Accessory Installation: Install aftermarket electrical accessories and upgrades, such as audio systems, GPS/navigation systems, security alarms, backup cameras, and remote start systems. Ensure proper wiring, integration, and functionality of accessories with the vehicle's electrical system. Electrical System Upgrades: Perform electrical system upgrades or modifications to improve vehicle performance, functionality, or safety. This may include upgrading wiring, adding additional electrical circuits, or installing aftermarket performance electronics. Diagnostic Testing: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical problems, read fault codes, and interpret sensor data. Conduct electrical system tests, such as voltage checks, continuity tests, and resistance measurements, to pinpoint issues accurately. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance performed on vehicles. Document findings, procedures, and parts used for future reference, warranty claims, and customer communication.
