Job description

Electrical System Diagnosis: Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical issues in vehicles, including wiring problems, faulty components, and electrical system malfunctions. Conducting visual inspections and performing tests to pinpoint the root cause of electrical problems. Electrical Repairs: Performing repairs on electrical components and systems in vehicles, such as starter motors, alternators, batteries, ignition systems, and lighting systems. Replacing damaged or faulty electrical parts and wiring to restore functionality. Wiring Installation and Repair: Installing, repairing, or replacing electrical wiring, connectors, and harnesses in vehicles. Ensuring proper routing and securing of wiring to prevent chafing, shorts, or other electrical hazards. Electrical Component Installation: Installing aftermarket electrical accessories or upgrades in vehicles, such as audio systems, security systems, lighting upgrades, or electronic gadgets. Ensuring proper installation and integration with existing electrical systems. Battery Maintenance and Charging: Testing vehicle batteries for proper voltage, capacity, and condition using battery testers and diagnostic equipment. Charging or replacing batteries as needed to ensure reliable starting and electrical power supply. Alternator and Starter Maintenance: Inspecting, testing, and servicing alternators and starter motors to ensure proper operation and reliability. Cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components as needed to optimize performance. Ignition System Service: Diagnosing and repairing issues with vehicle ignition systems, including ignition coils, spark plugs, ignition switches, and ignition control modules. Testing ignition system components for proper function and replacing defective parts as necessary. Lighting System Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing vehicle lighting systems, including headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and interior lighting. Replacing bulbs, fuses, relays, or wiring to restore proper lighting functionality. Electronic Diagnostic Testing: Using diagnostic scan tools and software to interface with onboard vehicle computers and retrieve diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Interpreting DTCs and diagnostic data to diagnose complex electrical issues accurately. Safety System Maintenance: Inspecting and servicing safety-related electrical systems in vehicles, such as airbag systems, anti-lock braking systems (ABS), traction control systems, and electronic stability control (ESC) systems. Ensuring proper function and integrity of safety systems to protect occupants in the event of an accident. Compliance with Electrical Standards: Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations when performing electrical work on vehicles. Following proper procedures and guidelines to minimize the risk of electrical hazards and ensure safety. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting electrical repairs, maintenance tasks, and diagnostic findings in service records or repair orders. Providing clear and concise reports to customers and service advisors regarding electrical issues and recommended repairs.
