Perumbavoor, Kerala Full Time Date: 06 June 2024

Job description

Design and Planning: The process begins with conceptualizing the design of the custom vehicle body or modification. This involves understanding the client's requirements, considering functional and aesthetic factors, and creating detailed design sketches or digital renderings. Fabrication and Construction: Once the design is finalized, the fabrication process begins. Skilled technicians, welders, and fabricators work to construct the vehicle body using various materials such as steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or carbon fiber. This may involve cutting, shaping, bending, and welding metal or composite materials to create the desired structure. Chassis Modification: In some cases, automobile body building may involve modifying the chassis or frame of the vehicle to accommodate the custom bodywork or modifications. This may include extending or shortening the wheelbase, reinforcing the chassis for added strength, or integrating specialized components such as roll cages or suspension systems. Panel Fabrication and Assembly: Fabricating and assembling individual body panels, such as fenders, hoods, doors, and bumpers, to fit the custom vehicle body design. Skilled craftsmen use sheet metal forming techniques, including cutting, bending, rolling, and shaping, to create seamless and precise panel structures. Surface Preparation and Finishing: Preparing the vehicle body surfaces for finishing, including sanding, priming, and smoothing out imperfections. Automotive painters apply paint, clear coat, or other finishing materials to achieve the desired color, texture, and gloss level for the custom vehicle body. Interior Customization: In addition to exterior bodywork, automobile body builders may also customize the vehicle's interior to meet the client's specifications. This may involve fabricating custom dashboard panels, upholstery, seating arrangements, and interior trim components to enhance comfort, functionality, and aesthetics. Specialized Vehicle Conversions: Automobile body building may involve converting standard vehicles into specialized configurations for commercial, industrial, or recreational purposes. This could include creating custom truck bodies, camper van conversions, food trucks, mobile workshops, or specialty vehicles for emergency services, transportation, or entertainment. Quality Control and Testing: Throughout the fabrication process, automobile body builders conduct quality control inspections and tests to ensure that the finished product meets industry standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. This may include structural integrity tests, fit and finish inspections, and functional testing of vehicle systems and components. Documentation and Compliance: Documenting the fabrication process, materials used, and specifications of the custom vehicle body or modification for record-keeping, certification, and compliance purposes. This may involve maintaining detailed project documentation, certifications, and compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations. Customer Collaboration and Satisfaction: Collaborating closely with clients throughout the automobile body building process to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback. Automobile body builders strive to deliver high-quality, customized solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure satisfaction with the final product.
