Job description

Design and Planning: Work closely with clients, designers, or engineers to conceptualize and plan the design of custom vehicle bodies. Consider factors such as aerodynamics, structural integrity, weight distribution, and aesthetics during the design phase. Fabrication: Use a variety of tools, equipment, and materials to fabricate custom vehicle bodies from scratch or modify existing body structures. This may involve cutting, welding, bending, shaping, and assembling metal or composite materials to create the desired body shape and structure. Body Panel Modification: Modify or replace existing body panels to achieve desired design features or accommodate custom components. This may include widening fenders, extending wheel arches, adding vents or scoops, and smoothing or reshaping body contours. Chassis Modification: Modify or reinforce vehicle chassis to accommodate custom body designs or performance enhancements. This may involve stretching or shortening the chassis, reinforcing frame rails, or integrating suspension components. Custom Features Installation: Install custom features and components onto vehicle bodies, such as custom grilles, bumpers, spoilers, body kits, hood scoops, and ground effects. Ensure proper fitment, alignment, and integration with the overall design. Paint and Finish: Prepare vehicle bodies for paint by sanding, priming, and smoothing surfaces to achieve a flawless finish. Apply paint, clear coat, and other finishing materials using spray guns, brushes, or other application methods. Ensure consistency and quality in paint application, color matching, and surface finish. Interior Customization: Coordinate with interior designers or upholsterers to integrate custom interior features, such as custom seating, trim panels, dashboards, and entertainment systems. Ensure that interior components complement the overall design and theme of the vehicle. Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure that all work meets industry standards and client specifications. Address any defects, imperfections, or deviations from the design promptly and effectively. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines when performing fabrication and installation tasks. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices to prevent accidents or injuries. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of fabrication processes, materials used, and design specifications. Provide clients with documentation, invoices, and warranties for completed work. Customer Communication: Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, discuss design options, and address any concerns or questions. Ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded throughout the fabrication process. Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and technologies through training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
