Job description

Installation: Automobile AC Technicians install air conditioning systems in vehicles during manufacturing or as aftermarket installations. This involves fitting components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigerant lines, and controls into the vehicle's interior and engine bay according to manufacturer specifications. Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of air conditioning systems. This includes tasks such as cleaning or replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting components for wear and tear, and lubricating moving parts. Repair: Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions or failures in air conditioning systems. This involves troubleshooting issues such as leaks, compressor failures, electrical problems, and insufficient cooling. Technicians use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify the root cause of problems and perform necessary repairs. Recharging Refrigerant: Recharging or refilling refrigerant in air conditioning systems as needed. This involves evacuating the system, measuring refrigerant levels, and adding the appropriate amount of refrigerant according to manufacturer specifications. Leak Detection and Repair: Identifying and repairing refrigerant leaks in the system. This may involve using leak detection tools such as ultraviolet dye or electronic leak detectors to locate leaks and then repairing them by replacing faulty components or sealing leaks. Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conducting tests and performance evaluations to ensure that air conditioning systems are functioning properly. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with vehicle owners, explaining repair options and recommendations, providing cost estimates, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding their vehicle's air conditioning system. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of services performed, including repair invoices, parts replaced, maintenance schedules, and warranty information.
