Job description

Diagnosing AC Systems: Inspecting and diagnosing air conditioning systems in vehicles to identify issues, malfunctions, or failures. Using diagnostic tools, gauges, and equipment to troubleshoot AC problems and determine necessary repairs. Repairing AC Components: Performing repairs on AC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and refrigerant lines. Replacing damaged or faulty parts and components to restore proper functioning of the AC system. Recharging Refrigerant: Checking refrigerant levels in AC systems and recharging refrigerant as needed to ensure optimal cooling performance. Following proper procedures and safety guidelines for handling refrigerants and preventing leaks. Leak Detection and Repair: Inspecting AC systems for leaks using leak detection tools and methods such as UV dye, electronic leak detectors, or pressure testing. Repairing leaks by sealing or replacing damaged components to prevent refrigerant loss. Cleaning and Maintenance: Cleaning AC system components, including filters, coils, and vents, to remove dust, debris, and contaminants that can affect system performance. Performing routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts and checking belt tension. Electrical Troubleshooting: Testing electrical components, switches, relays, and wiring associated with the AC system to diagnose electrical problems. Repairing or replacing faulty electrical components to restore proper operation. System Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conducting performance tests and system checks to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of AC repairs. Testing AC systems for proper cooling capacity, temperature control, and airflow distribution. Customer Service: Interacting with customers to understand their AC system concerns, provide recommendations, and explain repair options. Communicating repair procedures, costs, and timelines to customers in a clear and professional manner. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of AC repairs, service history, parts used, and diagnostic findings. Documenting repair procedures, test results, and customer approvals for billing and warranty purposes. Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards for handling hazardous materials, working with electrical systems, and operating equipment. Using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Continuing Education and Training: Staying updated with advances in automotive AC technology, repair techniques, and industry best practices through training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Pursuing certifications or licenses as required by regulatory agencies or employers. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that AC repairs meet quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer expectations.
