Job description

Diagnostic Testing: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify issues with vehicle air conditioning systems. Conduct visual inspections, pressure tests, leak checks, and performance tests to pinpoint the root cause of AC problems. System Repair: Perform repairs and replacements on AC components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, and refrigerant lines. Repair or replace damaged or faulty parts to restore proper function and performance of the AC system. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerant safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. Recharge AC systems with refrigerant, evacuate air and moisture from the system, and ensure proper refrigerant levels and pressures for optimal cooling performance. System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep vehicle AC systems in good working condition. This may include cleaning or replacing air filters, lubricating moving parts, checking belts and hoses for wear, and inspecting for leaks or corrosion. Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical issues related to the AC system, such as faulty wiring, relays, switches, and sensors. Use wiring diagrams and electrical testing equipment to trace and resolve electrical problems effectively. System Retrofitting: Retrofit older vehicles with outdated AC systems to newer, more efficient systems compatible with modern refrigerants and environmental regulations. Upgrade components and retrofit kits as needed to improve performance and compliance. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their AC-related concerns, provide estimates for repairs or services, and communicate effectively about the status of repairs. Address customer questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of AC service and repair activities, including diagnostic findings, repair procedures, parts used, and labor hours. Complete service reports, work orders, and invoices for customer billing and warranty purposes. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with AC refrigerants, chemicals, and equipment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous materials. Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in automotive AC repair and service. Participate in training programs, workshops, and certifications to enhance technical skills and knowledge. Quality Assurance: Ensure that AC repairs and services meet quality standards and specifications established by manufacturers and regulatory agencies. Test AC systems thoroughly after repairs to verify proper function and performance before returning vehicles to customers. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other automotive technicians and service personnel to coordinate AC repairs and services within the overall service workflow. Communicate effectively, share relevant information, and work together to deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
