Job description

System Diagnosis: Perform diagnostic tests to identify issues with vehicle air conditioning systems. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems such as refrigerant leaks, compressor malfunctions, or electrical issues. Repair and Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicle AC systems to restore functionality and performance. Replace faulty components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, or hoses as needed. Refrigerant Handling: Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerant gases according to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines. Leak Detection and Repair: Identify and repair leaks in AC system components using leak detection tools and techniques. Seal leaks in hoses, fittings, or connections to prevent refrigerant loss and ensure system integrity. System Flush and Cleaning: Perform system flushes and cleaning to remove contaminants, debris, or moisture from AC system components. Ensure proper lubrication and circulation of refrigerant oil throughout the system. Pressure Testing: Conduct pressure tests to verify system integrity and identify leaks or pressure abnormalities. Use pressure gauges and manifold sets to measure high and low side pressures and adjust refrigerant levels accordingly. Electrical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting AC system operation, such as faulty relays, switches, wiring, or sensors. Test electrical circuits, connectors, and components to diagnose and resolve electrical problems. Component Replacement: Remove and replace damaged or worn-out AC system components with new parts. Install replacement parts according to manufacturer specifications and torque requirements. System Performance Testing: Perform performance tests on AC systems to ensure proper cooling capacity, airflow, and temperature control. Verify that system pressures, temperatures, and vent temperatures meet specified parameters. Documentation and Reporting: Document repair activities, parts used, and test results in service records or work orders. Provide clear and detailed reports to customers on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of their vehicle's AC system. Customer Service Skills: Interact with customers professionally and courteously, explaining repair options, costs, and timeframes. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with AC system components, refrigerants, and hazardous materials. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling procedures to minimize risks to yourself and others. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advances in automotive AC technology, repair techniques, and industry best practices through training, certification programs, and professional development opportunities.
