Job description

Installation of AC Systems: Installing new air conditioning systems in vehicles during manufacturing or as aftermarket installations. This includes mounting components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigerant lines. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing issues with vehicle AC systems using diagnostic tools and equipment. AC Technicians inspect components for leaks, malfunctions, or electrical problems that affect cooling performance. Repair and Maintenance: Performing repairs and maintenance tasks to restore AC system functionality. This includes replacing faulty components, repairing refrigerant leaks, and cleaning or replacing air filters and cabin air quality filters. Recharging Refrigerant: Conducting refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and recharging procedures according to manufacturer specifications and environmental regulations. AC Technicians ensure proper refrigerant levels and system pressure for efficient cooling. Performance Testing: Conducting performance tests on AC systems to evaluate cooling efficiency and ensure optimal operation. Technicians measure temperature differentials, airflow, and pressure levels to verify system performance. Electrical and Wiring Checks: Inspecting electrical components, wiring harnesses, and connectors related to the AC system. Technicians troubleshoot electrical issues such as faulty switches, relays, or wiring harness failures affecting AC operation. System Retrofitting and Upgrades: Retrofitting older vehicles with modern AC systems or upgrading components to improve performance and energy efficiency. Technicians may recommend upgrades such as high-efficiency compressors or eco-friendly refrigerants. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of service and repair activities performed on customer vehicles. Technicians document diagnostic findings, parts used, and service procedures for billing purposes and future reference. Safety and Compliance: Adhering to safety guidelines and regulations when handling refrigerants, electrical systems, and mechanical components. AC Technicians ensure compliance with environmental protection standards for handling and disposal of refrigerants. Customer Service: Interacting with customers to explain diagnosis findings, repair options, and cost estimates.
