Job description

Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic assessments to diagnose male reproductive health conditions, including infertility, erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, and ejaculatory disorders. Perform physical examinations, medical history reviews, and specialized tests such as semen analysis, hormone assays, and imaging studies to identify underlying causes of male reproductive problems. Male Infertility Management: Provide specialized care and treatment for male infertility issues, including sperm disorders, sperm production abnormalities, and obstructive or non-obstructive azoospermia. Offer counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and fertility treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and surgical sperm retrieval procedures. Erectile Dysfunction Treatment: Evaluate and manage erectile dysfunction (ED) and other sexual health concerns affecting male patients. Offer counseling, lifestyle modifications, medications, and medical interventions such as penile prostheses, vacuum erection devices, or penile injections to improve erectile function and sexual satisfaction. Hormonal Disorders and Hypogonadism: Diagnose and treat hormonal disorders affecting male reproductive health, including hypogonadism, testosterone deficiency, and disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. Prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT), testosterone supplementation, or other medications to restore hormonal balance and improve reproductive function. Male Sexual Dysfunction Management: Evaluate and manage various forms of male sexual dysfunction, such as premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, and low libido. Offer counseling, behavioral therapy, medications, and other interventions to address underlying psychological, physiological, or interpersonal factors contributing to sexual dysfunction. Genital and Reproductive System Surgery: Perform surgical procedures to address anatomical abnormalities, congenital defects, or acquired conditions affecting the male reproductive system. Offer surgical interventions such as vasectomy reversal, varicocele repair, testicular sperm extraction (TESE), or microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA) to treat infertility or reproductive disorders. Reproductive Endocrinology and Genetic Counseling: Provide specialized care and counseling for patients with reproductive endocrine disorders, genetic abnormalities, or hereditary conditions affecting male fertility or reproductive health. Offer genetic testing, counseling, and family planning advice to individuals and couples at risk of genetic or hereditary reproductive disorders. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) Management: Screen, diagnose, and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in male patients. Offer counseling, education, and preventive measures to reduce the risk of STI transmission, promote safe sexual practices, and protect sexual health. Fertility Preservation: Provide counseling and fertility preservation options for male patients undergoing cancer treatment, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or other medical interventions that may affect fertility. Offer sperm banking, cryopreservation, or other fertility preservation techniques to preserve reproductive options for future family planning. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients about male reproductive health, fertility factors, sexual health issues, and treatment options. Offer counseling on lifestyle modifications, fertility awareness, and reproductive planning to empower patients to make informed decisions about their health and fertility. Research and Clinical Trials: Participate in research studies, clinical trials, and scientific investigations related to male reproductive health, fertility treatments, and advances in andrology. Contribute to the development of new diagnostic tools, treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches to improve outcomes for male patients with reproductive disorders. Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Care: Collaborate with other healthcare providers, fertility specialists, urologists, endocrinologists, and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for male patients with complex reproductive health issues. Coordinate care, referrals, and treatment plans to address patients' unique needs and optimize outcomes.
