Job description

Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and vital sign measurements, to identify patient needs and concerns. Monitor patient symptoms, responses to treatment, and changes in condition over time. Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers. Ensure accuracy in medication dosages, routes, and timing, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects. Wound Care: Assess and manage wounds, injuries, and surgical incisions to promote healing and prevent infection. Cleanse wounds, apply dressings, and monitor wound progress, providing patient education on wound care techniques and self-management. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment options, medications, and self-care practices. Provide instructions on medication administration, dietary guidelines, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care to promote patient understanding and adherence. Care Planning: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, surgeons, therapists, and social workers, to develop individualized care plans for patients. Participate in care conferences and contribute to care coordination and continuity across settings. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care and support to stabilize patients in critical situations. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), initiate advanced life support measures, and assist with emergency procedures as needed. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and well-being by addressing their concerns, advocating for their needs, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration records, and progress notes. Document patient responses to treatments and interventions, as well as any changes in condition or status. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and standards to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within healthcare settings. Follow proper hand hygiene practices, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as indicated, and implement isolation precautions when necessary. Professional Development: Pursue ongoing education and training to enhance clinical knowledge, skills, and competencies in nursing practice.
