Job description

Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessing patients' health status, administering medications, performing treatments and procedures, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living. Collaborative Care: Work collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, coordinate care activities, and ensure continuity of care for patients. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, self-care techniques, and preventive health measures. Provide information and support to help patients make informed decisions about their healthcare. Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects, and educate patients about proper medication use, dosage, and administration techniques. Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documentation, and nursing assessments in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts. Document patient care activities, treatment interventions, and communication with healthcare team members. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Communicate patients' concerns, preferences, and treatment goals to the healthcare team and help facilitate patient-centered care decisions. Clinical Procedures: Perform clinical procedures and interventions within the scope of nursing practice, such as starting intravenous (IV) lines, administering injections, dressing changes, wound care, and assisting with medical procedures or diagnostic tests. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care and support to patients experiencing acute illness, injury, or deterioration in health status. Initiate emergency protocols, perform life-saving interventions, and collaborate with emergency response teams as needed. Infection Control: Implement infection control practices and protocols to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) within healthcare settings. Adhere to standard precautions, hand hygiene guidelines, and isolation protocols to ensure patient safety and minimize the risk of infection transmission. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including continuing education, training programs, and certification renewal, to maintain clinical competence, expand nursing knowledge, and stay updated on advances in nursing practice and healthcare technology.
