Job description

Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and medical history review. Assess patients' symptoms, conditions, and responses to treatment to determine appropriate nursing interventions. Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and prescribed treatments as ordered by physicians. Ensure accurate dosing, proper administration techniques, and patient education regarding medications and potential side effects. Patient Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs, medical diagnoses, and treatment goals. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and treatment regimens. Medical Procedures: Assist physicians and healthcare providers with medical procedures, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic interventions. Prepare patients for procedures, provide pre- and post-procedure care, and monitor patients' responses to interventions. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices. Provide instructions on medication adherence, dietary guidelines, activity restrictions, and symptom management strategies. Wound Care and Dressing Changes: Perform wound assessments, clean and dress wounds, and monitor healing progress. Provide specialized wound care interventions, such as debridement, irrigation, and application of topical medications or dressings. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and standards to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Implement measures to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, code blue situations, and rapid response calls. Administer emergency treatments, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and assist with advanced life support measures as needed. Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in electronic health records (EHR) or medical charts. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards for documentation and record-keeping. Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients' rights, preferences, and needs are respected and addressed in their care. Communicate patients' concerns, preferences, and treatment goals to the healthcare team. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, specialists, therapists, social workers, and pharmacists, to provide holistic and coordinated care to patients. Continuing Education: Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and continuing education to stay current with evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and healthcare advancements. Maintain licensure and certification requirements through participation in continuing education programs.
