Job description

Medical Claims Review: Reviewing medical claims submitted by policyholders or healthcare providers to determine the validity of services rendered, adherence to policy terms, and compliance with medical necessity criteria. Utilization Management: Assessing the appropriateness and efficiency of medical treatments and services provided to policyholders. Utilizing evidence-based guidelines and clinical protocols to evaluate treatment plans and make recommendations for optimal care. Pre-authorization: Reviewing requests for pre-authorization of medical procedures, treatments, or medications to ensure they meet policy criteria and medical necessity requirements before approving coverage. Case Management: Providing support and coordination for policyholders with complex medical needs or chronic conditions. Collaborating with healthcare providers to develop care plans, monitor progress, and facilitate access to necessary services and resources. Medical Review: Conducting medical reviews of policyholders' health histories, laboratory results, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans to assess overall health status, identify potential risks, and recommend preventive measures or interventions. Health Education: Providing health education and counseling to policyholders on topics such as disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care strategies to promote overall wellness and reduce healthcare costs. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of medical reviews, case management activities, and other clinical interventions. Generating reports and summaries to communicate findings, outcomes, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders. Quality Improvement: Participating in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of healthcare delivery. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to optimize patient outcomes. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and industry guidelines. Staying informed about changes in healthcare laws and policies that may impact insurance coverage and reimbursement practices.
