Job description

Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and medical history review. Evaluate patients' symptoms, conditions, and responses to treatment to develop individualized care plans. Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous (IV) fluids, and treatments prescribed by physicians, following established medication administration protocols and safety guidelines. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, side effects, and medication interactions. Patient Care: Provide compassionate and competent nursing care to patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, hygiene, and comfort measures to promote recovery and well-being. Wound Care: Assess, dress, and monitor wounds, incisions, and surgical sites to promote healing and prevent infection. Follow aseptic techniques and wound care protocols to ensure proper wound management and minimize complications. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques. Provide instructions on health promotion, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications to empower patients to participate in their care and make informed decisions. Health Monitoring: Monitor patients' health status, symptoms, and vital signs regularly, and report any significant changes or concerns to physicians and healthcare team members. Document observations, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in medical records. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, develop care plans, and implement interventions. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, code situations, and crisis events promptly and effectively. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), initiate emergency protocols, and provide life-saving interventions to stabilize patients in critical conditions. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that patients' voices are heard and their concerns are addressed in the delivery of care. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols, standard precautions, and safety measures to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and promote patient safety. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, sterilize equipment, and practice proper hand hygiene to minimize the spread of pathogens. Continuing Education: Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education, training programs, and certification courses. Stay updated on current nursing practices, evidence-based guidelines, and advancements in healthcare technology and treatments. Ethical and Legal Compliance: Practice nursing within the scope of practice, ethical standards, and legal regulations governing nursing practice. Uphold patient confidentiality, privacy rights, and ethical principles in all aspects of patient care and interactions.
