Medical Treatment: Administering medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) therapies as prescribed by physicians or healthcare providers. Monitoring patients' responses to treatment and managing any adverse reactions or side effects. Patient Monitoring: Monitoring patients' conditions closely, including observing for changes in vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status. Identifying and reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the healthcare team promptly. Wound Care: Providing wound care, dressing changes, and other medical procedures to promote healing and prevent infection. Educating patients and caregivers on wound care techniques and monitoring for signs of complications. Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques. Providing instructions on managing chronic conditions, lifestyle modifications, and preventive health measures. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Collaborating with physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and treatment plans. Communicating patient updates, progress, and concerns to ensure continuity of care. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, interventions, medications administered, and patient responses. Documenting observations, findings, and communication with patients and healthcare providers. Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Serving as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive appropriate care, information, and support. Emergency Response: Responding to medical emergencies, code situations, and crises within the healthcare setting. Providing immediate interventions, CPR, and life-saving measures as needed to stabilize patients until further medical assistance arrives. Infection Control: Implementing infection control measures and protocols to prevent the spread of infections within healthcare facilities. Adhering to standard precautions, hand hygiene practices, and isolation procedures to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Medication Management: Administering medications safely and accurately, following established medication administration protocols and guidelines. Performing medication reconciliation, monitoring for drug interactions, and educating patients on medication adherence and potential side effects. Professional Development: Participating in ongoing education, training, and professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay updated on best practices, evidence-based guidelines, and advancements in nursing practice.
