Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs, medical history, symptoms, and current condition, to gather data for diagnosis and treatment planning. Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and injections as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and ensuring accurate dosage, route, and timing. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring patients' responses to therapy, and adjusting interventions as needed to achieve desired outcomes. Wound Care and Dressing Changes: Perform wound assessments, clean and dress wounds, and monitor healing progress, following sterile techniques and infection control protocols to prevent complications and promote healing. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, medications, and self-care practices, empowering them to participate in their own healthcare and make informed decisions. Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or trauma, providing life-saving interventions and support until additional help arrives. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care, share information, and ensure continuity of care. Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, medications administered, and response to treatment, adhering to legal and ethical standards of documentation. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs, serving as their voice and liaison with healthcare providers, ensuring that they receive compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care. Infection Control and Prevention: Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental sanitation, to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Critical Thinking and Decision-Making: Apply critical thinking skills to assess complex patient situations, analyze data, identify problems, and implement appropriate nursing interventions to promote optimal outcomes.
