Job description

Patient assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, medical history review, and symptom evaluation. Medication administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians, including oral medications, intravenous (IV) medications, injections, and intramuscular (IM) medications, and monitoring patients for adverse reactions or side effects. Treatment planning and implementation: Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including medication regimens, therapies, and interventions to promote healing and recovery. Patient education: Providing patients and their families with information and education about their medical conditions, treatment options, medications, self-care practices, and preventive measures to promote health and wellness. Wound care: Performing wound assessments, dressing changes, and wound care procedures, and monitoring wound healing progress to prevent infection and promote tissue healing. Medical procedures: Assisting physicians and healthcare providers with medical procedures and diagnostic tests, such as blood draws, IV catheter insertion, urinary catheterization, and specimen collection, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures. Patient advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights, preferences, and needs, and ensuring that their voices are heard in the healthcare decision-making process, including respecting cultural beliefs and preferences. Emergency response: Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care and interventions to stabilize patients, including administering CPR, initiating life-saving measures, and coordinating with emergency medical services (EMS) as needed. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, care interventions, medications administered, and treatment outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) or medical charts, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements. Interdisciplinary collaboration: Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care, exchange information, and promote continuity of care.
