Job description

Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms. Use assessment findings to develop individualized care plans and interventions. Medication Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and safety guidelines. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and intervene as necessary. Clinical Procedures: Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in performing clinical procedures and treatments, such as wound care, IV therapy, catheterization, and specimen collection. Ensure proper technique, infection control, and patient comfort. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. Provide instructions on medication use, dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and symptom management. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Promote health and wellness through patient education, counseling, and preventive interventions. Advocate for immunizations, screenings, and health maintenance activities to prevent illness and promote well-being. Documentation and Charting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts. Document medication administration, vital signs, and other relevant data according to regulatory standards and institutional policies. Collaborative Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care across settings. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing concerns, facilitating communication, and ensuring informed decision-making. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and crises by providing immediate nursing interventions, initiating life-saving measures, and coordinating rapid response teams. Remain calm, focused, and organized in high-stress situations. Ethical Practice: Practice nursing in accordance with ethical principles, professional standards, and legal regulations. Uphold patient confidentiality, privacy rights, and informed consent in all interactions and interventions. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety initiatives to enhance the quality of care and patient outcomes. Identify opportunities for process improvement, error reduction, and best practice implementation. Continuing Education: Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and stay abreast of advances in nursing practice, research, and technology. Attend conferences, workshops, and training programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
