Job description

Patient Assessment: Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs, symptoms, medical history, and current condition. Medication Administration: Administer medications, injections, and intravenous (IV) therapies as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and provide education on medication management. Treatment and Procedures: Perform various medical treatments and procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, tracheostomy care, and tube feedings. Follow established protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and comfort. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques. Provide instructions on preventive measures, lifestyle modifications, and community resources. Care Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs, goals, and preferences. Coordinate care delivery and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses in electronic health records (EHR) or medical charts. Report significant findings, changes, or concerns to physicians and other team members. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that patients receive respectful and compassionate care. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and trauma situations. Administer life-saving interventions, initiate CPR, and follow established protocols for emergency care. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and practices to prevent the spread of infections within healthcare settings. Follow proper hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of nursing care. Identify areas for improvement, implement evidence-based practices, and monitor outcomes. Continuing Education: Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices, guidelines, and advancements in nursing practice. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as needed. Ethical and Legal Compliance: Practice nursing in accordance with ethical principles, professional standards, and legal regulations.
