Job description

Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough patient assessments to gather health history, vital signs, symptoms, and other relevant information. Assisting with physical examinations and diagnostic tests ordered by physicians to evaluate patients' health status. Medication Administration: Administering medications, vaccines, and intravenous (IV) therapies as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and medication safety guidelines. Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and side effects. Patient Education: Providing patients and their families with information about medical conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care practices. Educating patients on lifestyle modifications, preventive measures, and follow-up care plans. Wound Care: Performing wound assessments, dressing changes, and wound irrigation as part of patient care. Monitoring wound healing progress and providing appropriate interventions to prevent infection and promote healing. Infection Control: Adhering to infection control protocols and standard precautions to prevent the spread of infections in healthcare settings. Practicing proper hand hygiene, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Emergency Response: Responding promptly to medical emergencies and providing first aid and basic life support interventions as needed. Collaborating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients and initiate appropriate emergency medical care. Collaborative Care: Collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Communicating patient status, progress, and concerns to the interdisciplinary team. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, medications administered, and other relevant information in electronic health records (EHRs) or medical charts. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Critical Thinking: Applying critical thinking skills to assess complex patient situations, prioritize care needs, and make timely clinical decisions. Recognizing changes in patient condition and responding appropriately to ensure patient safety and well-being.
