Job description

Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, to develop individualized care plans. Medication Administration: Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosages, routes, and timing. Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and medication interactions. Patient Monitoring: Monitoring patients' conditions and responses to treatment, including vital signs, fluid intake and output, pain levels, and mental status. Notifying physicians of any changes or concerns in patients' health status. Wound Care: Providing wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative care to promote healing and prevent infections. Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques. Providing instructions on diet, exercise, medication management, and symptom management. Assisting with Procedures: Assisting physicians and other healthcare providers with medical procedures, diagnostic tests, and examinations. Ensuring proper positioning of patients, preparing equipment, and providing emotional support. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, care provided, medications administered, and other pertinent information in electronic health records (EHR) or medical charts. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care. Communicating effectively with team members, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. Patient Advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system. Serving as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to address concerns, facilitate communication, and ensure informed decision-making. Infection Control: Adhering to infection control protocols and standards to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Following hand hygiene practices, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and implementing isolation precautions as necessary. Emergency Response: Responding to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma situations. Providing initial assessment and interventions to stabilize patients before additional help arrives. Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development activities, such as continuing education courses, certifications, and participation in professional organizations, to maintain competency and stay abreast of advances in nursing practice.
