Baggage Handling: Ground staff are responsible for loading and unloading baggage from aircraft and transporting it to and from the terminal. They ensure that baggage is handled safely and efficiently to prevent damage or loss. Aircraft Marshalling: Ground staff direct aircraft to and from parking stands using hand signals or electronic signaling devices. They guide pilots during taxiing and parking to ensure safe and efficient movement of aircraft on the ground. Aircraft Refueling: Ground staff oversee the refueling of aircraft, ensuring that fuel is loaded safely and accurately according to the aircraft's requirements. They follow strict safety protocols to prevent spills or accidents during refueling operations. Aircraft Maintenance: Ground staff assist with aircraft maintenance tasks, such as cleaning the exterior of aircraft, servicing lavatories, and replenishing water and waste supplies. They also conduct routine inspections of aircraft to identify any issues or discrepancies. Passenger Boarding: Ground staff assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from aircraft, providing guidance and assistance as needed. They may also facilitate the boarding process by checking boarding passes, scanning tickets, and verifying passenger information. Gate Operations: Ground staff manage gate operations, including coordinating arrivals and departures, boarding procedures, and gate assignments. They ensure that passengers are informed about flight status updates and any changes to departure times or gates. Security Screening: Ground staff assist with security screening procedures, including checking passengers' boarding passes and identification, screening carry-on baggage, and conducting security checks using metal detectors or other screening devices. Ground Transportation: Ground staff coordinate ground transportation services for passengers, including shuttle buses, taxis, and rental cars. They provide information and assistance to passengers regarding transportation options and help facilitate smooth transitions between the airport and other locations. Lost and Found: Ground staff manage lost and found items at the airport, assisting passengers in locating lost belongings and following established procedures for handling and returning lost items to their owners. Customer Service: Ground staff provide assistance and support to passengers throughout their journey, addressing inquiries, concerns, and special requests. They ensure that passengers receive excellent customer service and have a positive experience at the airport.
