Job description

Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports on a regular basis. These reports provide an overview of the financial health and performance of the organization. Bookkeeping: Recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, and organizing financial data in accounting software or spreadsheets. This includes entries for expenses, revenues, assets, liabilities, and equity. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business goals. Monitoring actual performance against budgeted figures and analyzing variances. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management. Assessing profitability, liquidity, solvency, and other financial indicators to support decision-making. Tax Compliance: Preparing and filing tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, payroll tax) accurately and on time. Ensuring compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Advising on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Auditing and Assurance: Participating in internal audits to review financial controls, procedures, and compliance with policies. Coordinating with external auditors during annual audits to provide documentation and explanations of financial records. Financial Management: Managing cash flow by monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable. Optimizing working capital and ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Making recommendations for improving financial performance and efficiency. Cost Management: Analyzing costs and expenses to identify areas for cost reduction or efficiency improvements. Monitoring and controlling expenditures to align with budgetary constraints and financial goals. Financial Systems and Software: Utilizing accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and financial management tools to streamline processes, maintain accurate records, and generate reports. Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and modeling. Regulatory Compliance: Staying informed about changes in accounting standards, financial regulations, and reporting requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Ensuring financial practices and disclosures are in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines. Communication Skills: Communicating financial information effectively to stakeholders including management, clients, investors, and regulatory authorities. Presenting complex financial data in a clear and understandable manner. Problem Solving: Resolving accounting discrepancies, reconciling accounts, and investigating variances. Identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain financial accuracy and integrity. Ethical Standards: Upholding ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and business practices. Ensuring confidentiality of financial information and complying with professional codes of conduct.
