Job description

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements (such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) to summarize and report the financial position and performance of the organization to management and stakeholders. Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, posting debits and credits, and ensuring all financial data is entered into the accounting system. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and expected future expenses. Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management on financial performance. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, VAT/GST, etc.) in compliance with local and national regulations. Stay informed about tax laws and changes to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments. Audit Support: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and implement audit recommendations. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and variance analysis. Interpret financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks for management decision-making. Cash Management: Manage cash flow by monitoring bank balances, reconciling accounts, and forecasting cash needs. Optimize cash resources and maintain liquidity to support daily operations and financial obligations. Financial Systems and Controls: Establish and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data. Implement and utilize accounting software and systems effectively. Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and deductions. Calculate wages, taxes, and deductions, and distribute payroll to employees via direct deposit or checks. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Monitor changes in accounting regulations and update practices as necessary. Management Reporting: Prepare management reports and financial analyses for decision-making purposes. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on analysis of financial data and trends. Professional Development: Stay updated on accounting principles, practices, and regulations through continuing education and professional development. Maintain certifications (such as CPA, CMA) and participate in relevant training programs.
