Job description

Financial Reporting: Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of the organization’s financial position. Bookkeeping and Record Keeping: Recording financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accounting software or manual ledgers. Maintaining general ledger accounts and reconciling bank statements to verify accuracy and integrity of financial information. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business projections. Monitoring budget variances and providing analysis to management to support financial planning and decision-making. Tax Compliance and Planning: Preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations. Advising on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing available tax incentives and credits. Auditing and Internal Controls: Conducting internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial controls, risk management procedures, and compliance with organizational policies. Coordinating external audits with independent auditors to verify financial records and ensure adherence to audit requirements. Financial Analysis and Management: Analyzing financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Providing insights and recommendations to management on financial performance, cost management, and profitability enhancement strategies. Financial Systems and Technology: Utilizing accounting software and financial management systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities. Implementing upgrades or enhancements to financial systems to support evolving business needs and regulatory requirements. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies related to financial reporting and operations. Assessing financial risks, identifying potential exposures, and implementing risk mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational assets. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and operational teams, to provide financial expertise and support.
