Job description

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and registers. Record transactions, expenses, revenues, and other financial activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or relevant accounting standards. Bookkeeping: Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, such as recording invoices, bills, receipts, and payments. Ensure that financial transactions are properly documented, categorized, and reconciled to maintain the integrity of the accounting records. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor payments, invoice processing, and expense reimbursements. Monitor accounts receivable, send out invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection and cash flow management. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies. Verify the accuracy of bank transactions, deposits, withdrawals, and bank charges to ensure that the company's financial accounts are in balance. Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate financial reports, statements, and summaries on a regular basis, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts. Present financial data and analysis to management for decision-making and strategic planning purposes. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and control costs. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements at the local, state, and federal levels. Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes in a timely and accurate manner. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, supporting schedules, and explanations for financial transactions and balances. Collaborate with auditors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and implement audit recommendations. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluation to assess the company's financial health, profitability, and efficiency. Identify key financial metrics, trends, and areas for improvement, and communicate findings to management for decision-making purposes. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations. Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend enhancements or changes as needed. Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processes, including employee compensation, deductions, and benefits administration. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including payroll taxes, deductions, and withholdings. Professional Development: Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends through continuing education, training programs, and professional development opportunities. Maintain professional certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), if applicable.
