Job description

Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to summarize and report the financial position and performance of the organization to management, investors, and other stakeholders. Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording financial transactions in ledgers or accounting software. This includes recording income and expenses, processing invoices, and ensuring all transactions are properly categorized and reconciled. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, verifying payments, and ensuring bills are paid on time. Manage accounts receivable by invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts. Payroll Processing: Calculate and process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes. Handle payroll-related tasks such as issuing paychecks, direct deposits, and payroll tax filings. Tax Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and minimize tax liabilities. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and performance metrics to assess the organization's financial health and performance. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and projected business activities. Monitor budget performance and variances, and provide explanations and recommendations as needed. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and implement audit recommendations. Financial Systems and Controls: Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data and safeguard assets. Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Financial Planning and Strategy: Provide support in financial planning initiatives and strategic decision-making processes. Collaborate with management to analyze financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to achieve organizational goals. Cash Management: Manage cash flow by forecasting cash needs, monitoring bank balances, and optimizing cash resources. Implement cash management strategies to ensure liquidity and minimize financial risks. Professional Development: Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulations through continuing education, professional development, and participation in industry associations. Maintain professional certifications (e.g., CPA) as required.
