Job description

Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording daily transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments, in accounting software or ledgers. Accounts Payable: Process and manage accounts payable functions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals for payment, and ensuring timely disbursement of payments to vendors and suppliers. Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing customers, tracking outstanding invoices, and following up on overdue payments to ensure timely collection. General Ledger: Prepare and maintain the general ledger, which includes posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually) to provide insights into the financial health of the organization. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and projecting future financial performance to support planning and decision-making. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax returns, and maintaining accurate records to support tax filings. Audit Support: Assist in the preparation for internal audits, external audits, or government audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions and accounts. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, variances, and trends to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, or potential risks, and provide insights and recommendations to management. Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and monitor compliance with internal control policies. Cash Management: Manage cash flow by forecasting cash needs, monitoring cash balances, and optimizing cash utilization to ensure liquidity and meet financial obligations. Financial Software Management: Utilize accounting software and financial management systems to record transactions, generate reports, and analyze financial data, and maintain proficiency in accounting software functionality.
