Job description

Financial Reporting: Preparation and analysis of financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) to provide insights into the financial performance of the organization. Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledger accounts, and reconciling balances to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Managing accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, and managing payroll functions. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the development of financial budgets and forecasts based on historical data and projected trends. Monitoring variances between actual financial results and budgeted/planned figures, and providing explanations for discrepancies. Tax Compliance and Reporting: Preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, payroll tax) in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Advising on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes. Auditing and Compliance: Facilitating internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as required. Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and prevent fraud. Financial Analysis and Advisory: Analyzing financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions and strategic planning. Collaborating with management and stakeholders to interpret financial results and discuss implications for future actions. Skills and Qualifications: Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is typically required. Some positions may prefer or require a master’s degree or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data analysis and financial modeling. Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
