Job description

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization. This includes recording transactions, updating ledgers, and ensuring that financial data is organized and accessible for analysis and reporting purposes. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a regular basis. These reports provide insights into the financial health and performance of the organization and are often required for regulatory compliance and decision-making purposes. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and future projections. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide analysis to management on variances and trends. Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns accurately and on time. This may involve calculating taxes owed, applying deductions and credits, and communicating with tax authorities as needed. Audit Support: Support external auditors during annual financial audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations of financial transactions. Assist in implementing audit recommendations and improving internal controls to strengthen financial reporting processes. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Cash Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity by monitoring cash balances, preparing cash flow forecasts, and optimizing cash inflows and outflows. Ensure that adequate funds are available to meet short-term obligations and invest excess cash prudently. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable processes by processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling vendor statements. Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts. Payroll Processing: Coordinate payroll processing activities, including calculating employee wages, withholding taxes, and processing payroll deductions. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and timely payment of employee wages. Financial Systems Management: Utilize accounting software and financial management systems to streamline accounting processes, automate routine tasks, and improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Compliance and Regulation: Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, such as management, department heads, and employees, to provide financial information, analysis, and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
