Job description

Financial Records Management: Recording and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial documents. Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annually) to provide insights into the financial health of the organization. Presenting financial information to management, stakeholders, or regulatory bodies as required. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans based on historical data, market trends, and business goals. Monitoring budget variances and analyzing financial performance against budgeted targets. Tax Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and preparing tax returns (e.g., income tax, sales tax, VAT/GST). Providing support during tax audits and resolving any tax-related issues or discrepancies. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement or potential risks. Providing recommendations for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, or operational efficiency based on financial insights. Audit Support: Coordinating and facilitating internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, explanations, and reconciliations. Implementing audit recommendations to strengthen internal controls and financial processes. Payroll Processing: Calculating and processing payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, and statutory contributions. Maintaining payroll records and addressing employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits. Cash Flow Management: Monitoring cash flow projections and managing cash balances to ensure liquidity for operational needs. Recommending strategies for optimizing cash flow and managing working capital effectively. Financial Systems and Software: Utilizing accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and financial management systems to record transactions, generate reports, and streamline financial processes. Ensuring data integrity and security in financial systems. Compliance and Regulations: Staying informed about changes in accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements. Implementing best practices to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Participating in financial planning and analysis activities, including variance analysis, scenario modeling, and strategic financial decision-making. Supporting management in evaluating business initiatives and investment opportunities. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to provide financial insights and support business decision-making. Communicating financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
